Om Malik died Tuesday, June 24, at Stanford Hospital. He was 59. Born in New Delhi, Malik came to the United States as a journalist and built GigaOm into required reading for a generation of tech founders and investors, at its peak reaching 6.5 million monthly readers. He later became a partner at True Ventures, combining journalism's instinct for signal with a venture lens. His blog continued through his illness.
